Cedar Stormchaser – p.11

Cedar wondered if the heat was affecting his mind. The man before him seemed real enough. “Who are you?”

“I am the one you have been seeking,” he said, and raised his hands to the sky. Immediately, it began to rain…but only on Cedar. The water was warm but clean, and he tilted his head back to drink. Just as he’d had his fill, the man clapped his hands together and the rain ceased.

“Now that you are refreshed, let us discuss your plans.”

“My plans?” Cedar wiped his face, noticing how quickly the water dried up in the heat.

“Yes, how exactly do you plan to defeat the storm? I want to make sure I play my role the way you want me to. Should I be more fierce? Appear to you in the shape of a great beast? Or were you hoping to have me begging for mercy by now?”
