Moksha – p.14

Moksha kept one eye on the river below as she walked, and the more whitewater she saw, the faster she went. She had never known a raging river, and it was terribly exciting. She wanted more than anything to see it up close. Before she knew it, she was running.

The sky was a deep, clear blue, and the ground beneath Moksha’s feet began to show signs of green, but she didn’t notice. Her gaze was fixed on the river. She ran without thinking, forgetting everything but her quest to get down into the valley. Moksha was taken completely by surprise when she tripped over a clump of grass.

She tumbled head over heels and almost went over the edge. When she sat up and looked around, she was amazed to see that the barren land was no longer barren, but dotted with plants. Moksha knew that where there were plants, there would be water.
