About the Author

raven Bedtime stories are where children first learn that reading can transport you to other worlds, and I have always been fascinated by fairy tales, myths, campfire stories and other literature aimed at children.

I am a lifelong, voracious reader with a BA in Creative Writing. Here is where I come to silence my inner editor; I am trying to tap into a sort of dream space of endless imagination when I write for this blog, and so far my Muse and I are on very chummy terms.

This is great, Kim. Even if my young boys can’t yet appreciate it, I know I will enjoy following this BLOG. It would be great to see illustrations along with the beautiful writing.

Love it and I’m not just saying that. Caught the continuing astrology references immediately. I want to share it with Mom. Looking forward to reading more.

One technical point: you used the word “shimmy” when I think you meant “shinny” (a form of the verb to “shin,” as in to climb by alternately using hands and shins). “Shimmy” is to shake, tremble and quake. Hey, that would make a great new dance craze song for us old folks!:)

But, but, doesn’t everybody get their groove on when climbing trees? Noted and fixed, thanks!

Hee-hee. I halfway expected the response to be “you climb trees *your* way and I’ll climb them *mine*!” All I know is that if I tried to shimmy up a tree it could be dangerous for me and anyone in the vicinity. 🙂
